Heart of America Chapter of the International Code Council
The Heart of America Chapter is a group of building officials, inspectors and other interested parties which endeavor to advance good building practices by the administration and enforcement of a uniform set of codes. The protection of life, safety and health of the public as well as the protection of property are foremost in our pursuits. As a group we meet to exchange information, educate our members and propose changes that will improve the codes as they relate to our mission.
Our group was formed in 1966 to help the building officials and inspectors in the state of Kansas communicate with others in their profession and to allow training to be obtained at a reasonable cost to the individual. Our network of building officials assist one another with problems common to all building departments. A solution to most problems can be found in the experience of others in the group. Training is critical for all inspectors due to the technical and ever changing nature of the building industry.
We welcome you and encourage you to join our group as a member. The information we offer here is free and hopefully it may be of help for those who seek answers to difficult questions. Our members, generally, are eager to field questions they receive and we list job openings related to inspection as a service to our members.
Thanks for visiting.
